Adding an Image to an Album
Images can be used on multiple pages and categories on your website
-
Select Website and Albums. Choose an album you want to add the image to. Select Open and New
-
Title - This is picked up by search engines so write a relevant, consise and descriptive title for you image here
-
Media Type - This is already defined by the album you are in
-
Order - Whether the image is to appear First or Last in the CMS & the album on your website. The order can be changed later from within the album
-
Image - Click on Browse to navigate the image on your computer that you want to upload. The CMS can automatically resize the image. If your image is already the size you require then choose the Do Not Resize option. You must select this before uploading your image. which is covered later when we learn to make Widgets.
-
Layout - You will mostly want to use Auto here - Unless you wish to force cropping e.g. Using a portrait picture in a landscape format
-
Short Description - Here you can elaborate on the descriptive title of your image. Relevant extra info can be added such as Date, Geographical Location etc. This will appear in the ALT text - the text which pops up when you hover over an image on a website
Adding Multiple Images to an Album using the Multi uploader
-
Select Website and Albums. Choose an album you want to add the image to. Select Open and Multi
-
To select images to upload click the New ... button to add all of the images you want to upload
-
When you've added all of the required images click Save to start the upload
-
Once images are uploaded you will have to edit each image to add titles and descriptions
-
The multi-image uploader compresses and resizes images the same as not selecting the 'Do Not Resize' option. This means that as the multi-image uploader resizes images, any PNG images uploaded with the multi-image uploader will lose any tranparency. The 'Do Not Resize' option is useful when uploading transparent PNGs as the images retain their transparency.
