Hyperlinks explained:
A hyperlink, often referred to as a 'Link', is a word, phrase, or image that you can click on to jump to a new document or a new section within the current document. Hyperlinks are found in nearly all Web pages, allowing users to click their way from page to page. Text hyperlinks are often blue and underlined, but don't have to be. When you move the cursor over a hyperlink, the arrow should change to a small hand pointing at the link.
Anchor Text:
This is the actual text representing the link. It is most commonly in blue and underlined. In the documents, like this one, on the Hammerhead CMS you will know it as just being underlined and it turns bold when you hover over it. Anchor Text is very important. It should reflect the document or website you are linking to, such as: Hyperlinks and Anchor text. This is important as it is picked up by search engines and can help your site ranking. The search engine will compare the content of the anchor text to the document or webpage for relevance. Creating links with anchor text such as Click Here is not advisable unless the document is titled or about 'Clicking Here'.
Basically, your anchor text should be consice and relevant.
